🍱 What is Teriyaki?
Teriyaki is a Japanese cooking technique where meat or fish is grilled or pan-fried and glazed with a sweet soy-based sauce. It’s quick, flavorful, and perfect for meal prepping.
🍗 Ingredients:
500g boneless chicken thighs
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
2 cups cooked rice
Steamed broccoli, carrots, or edamame (for serving)
For the Teriyaki Sauce:
¼ cup soy sauce
2 tbsp mirin or rice vinegar
2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
1 tsp grated ginger
1 tsp garlic (minced)
1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water
🍳 How to Make It:
In a saucepan, simmer all sauce ingredients (except cornstarch) for 2–3 minutes. Stir in cornstarch slurry to thicken.
Pan-fry chicken in oil until golden and cooked through. Add sauce and coat evenly.
Serve over rice with veggies and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
🍶 A Taste of Tokyo at Home:
